A Study on Residual Pesticides in Domestic Agricultural Products

Abstract
Although pesticide are unavoidable fact to increase food produdction, they become an important issue on public health because more potent synthetic insecticides compared with natural ones are developed are used widely.
This study was carried out to provided informationson residual pesticides in domastic agricultural products and to offer a way to pevent the harmful effects on human being.
Twenty-seven kinds of pesticides on fifteen agricultural products were tested and results in.
1. Residual level of each tested pesticides was below the tolelance limits for pesticide residue on foods in Korea.
2. Detection frgueneies of organochlorine pesticide in agricultural products were much higher than those of organophosphorous agent.
3. DDT, ¥á, ¥â, ¥ã, ¥ä-BHC, aldrin, fenthion, methidathion, aziphos methyl, chloropyrifos, tetradifon, folpet residues were not detected in every sample.
4. Detection frequencies of pesticide in agricultural products were between 1~10% in DDE, DDD, dielrion frequencies of pesticide in agricultural prentoate, benomyl, thiopanate methyl and between 10~20% in eldrin, captan, diazinon, fenitrithion,
chlorothalonil.
These results suggest that the pesticide residues in 15 domestic agricultural products may not be harmful effect on human but futher studies will be needed in the future.
